BOOTSTRAP RESERVOIRS

The Hydraulic Systems Division designs and manufactures a complete line of bootstrap hydraulic reservoirs for aerospace and derivative markets. Our hydraulic bootstrap reservoir product line is based on proven design concepts, extensive service history, high reliability, and rigorous requirements.

 

Standard and custom units are available from stand-alone units to highly customized and fully integrated units with filtering, control, pressure maintaining, bleed, and sensing technology. Many of our bootstrap reservoirs contain line replaceable units such as electrical fluid level, pressure, and temperature sensors, filter replacement indicators, overboard relief valves, isolation valves, pressure maintaining valves, accumulators, and manual or automatic bleed valves. 

 

Our extensive heritage and broad product offerings mean we have the capability to design and build custom reservoirs and systems for your application.

Advantages of a bootstrap reservoir include:

  • Lower amounts of air entrained in hydraulic fluid. Air in hydraulic fluid changes fluid characteristics and negatively affects performance. The closed system created by a bootstrap allows existing air to be bled from the system, while preventing outside air from entering.
  • Less foreign object contamination. The closed system created by a bootstrap reservoir does not allow contaminates to enter from the environment.
  • No bleed air required. The system is self pressurizing, using system high pressure to create inlet pressure.
  • Parker automatic bleed valves allow air to be removed from the system without intervention from maintenance personnel, while preventing the loss of excess fluid from the system.
